Portfolio > Unconscious Drawings

Imagine a moving object that leaves a path. One could learn a lot by studying the patterns that it makes in space. Just like an ice skater leaves a trail, any moving object creates imaginary lines that define what it is in a special way. These lines offer insight into the object's nature as it interacts with the world.

My work reveals the spatial record of an event- a fan propels a pendulum, pennies spin across a surface, the sun moves across the sky. "Drawings" are typically created to present a subject again. The subject is "re" "presented" or represented. I call my drawings "presentational" because the subject of the drawing is being created for the first time. These authentic marks reveal the invisible chaos of motion and bring to light its invisible patterns.
